Ngila Estate is a coffee producer located on the slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater in northern Tanzania. Established in 1920 and incorporated in 1961, the estate spans 100 hectares of coffee trees cultivated using environmentally sustainable practices. Owned by Vera Stücker, Ngila is committed to producing high-quality coffee while supporting the local community. The farm sits at an altitude of 1,500–1,600 meters above sea level, near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Processing
This lot was harvested between July and August 2024. Ripe cherries were hand-sorted and processed at Ngila’s on-site facilities. After pulping and washing, the coffee was fermented in tanks for 15 hours, then dried on raised beds for 14 days until the ideal moisture level was reached.
The dried parchment coffee was then delivered to Rafiki Coffee Mill in Moshi, where it was hulled and prepared for export.
