Ultra-Clean Light Roast that Redefines Mandheling!
Indonesian Mandheling is rarely offered as a light roast, with most versions being dark roasted with bitter characteristics.
There are two key reasons for this tradition. First, Mandheling beans are typically large, dense, and high in moisture content, making them challenging to roast properly at lighter profiles.
Second, Mandheling traditionally undergoes “Wet Hulled” processing, where the hulling occurs while beans are still semi-dry. This makes the green beans more susceptible to damage, which can compromise flavor clarity.
To create a clean light roast requires securing meticulously selected, high-quality green beans.
This exceptional lot was sourced from small-scale farmers in the Lintong, Dolok Sanggul, and Pollung districts of North Sumatra, selecting only the highest quality beans.
